We welcome feedback from the public and want you to engage with us. Let us know about the issues you have in your area, how we can support your community. We want to know what type of engagement you would like us to do in your area on a regular basis.

This could include:

  • Talk to Us sessions where you can come along and speak to us about policing issues or crime prevention advice, and find out who we are and what we do
  • Policing Masterclasses where we can deliver an event to educate communities about issues such as; drugs, ASB, fraud, child sexual exploitation or modern day slavery and provide signposting to support agencies

We would also like to see an increase in Community SpeedWatch and Neighbourhood Watch schemes, where communities take ownership for issues in their area, play a pivotal role in helping to tackle issues and get regular support from the police.

If you have any information about criminality or issues in your area or would like more information about the schemes and engagements mentioned, please contact us using the form at the bottom of our team page.

Current locations: You can let us know about locations you are concerned about via StreetSafe.

Please note: StreetSafe is not for reporting crimes or emergencies. Instead, report them:

Examples of situations that should be reported to StreetSafe include a poorly lit alleyway that makes you feel unsafe or a park with broken equipment that poses a safety hazard.

If you’re unsure whether something is a crime or not you can read the related guidance on our website.

We have seen an increase in the number of burglaries across the North Somerset region, where the primary target is to obtain keys for high end vehicles.

If you have a vehicle that cannot be stored in a garage or behind a barrier and its parked on your driveway or in the street then the following advice should be followed to reduce the risk of your vehicle being stolen.

  • Don’t keep any valuables on view in the vehicle overnight. If you do need to keep items in the vehicle, put them in the boot.
  • Keep your car keys upstairs, ideally in the room you are sleeping in. Criminals don’t want to venture upstairs as this increases the risk of a confrontation with the occupants.
  • If you are using a keyless remote, keep in in a ‘faraday pouch’ so it cannot be copied.
  • If you see anyone hanging around your or your neighbours property, especially if they are taking an interest in vehicles, ring the police on 101 straight away to report it.
  • If you don’t have external lighting or cameras, consider having them installed, making sure you comply with regulations on their use.
